Estonian formin to discuss energy turn with Nordic, Baltic colleagues

TALLINN – Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets is to discuss the energy turn with the foreign ministers of the Nordic-Baltic cooperation format (Nordic-Baltic 8, NB8) and the Visegrad group (Visegrad 4, V4) in Finland on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Liimets will be on a visit to Finland on Tuesday and Wednesday to take part in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the NB8 and V4 formats, spokespeople for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

Topics to be discussed at the meeting of NB8 and V4 foreign ministers on Tuesday include the energy revolution, regional infrastructure, the Arctic, migration, the Western Balkans and transatlantic relations. In addition, Russia, Belarus, Africa and climate diplomacy are on the agenda.

On Wednesday, a meeting of NB8 foreign ministers will take place on Afghanistan, China, the South Caucasus, security and climate change, and other current OSCE and UN topics. The COVID-19 pandemic will also be touched upon.
