TALLINN - Secretary General of the Estonian Foreign Ministry Jonatan Vseviov met with Spanish State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs Diego Martínez Belío in Madrid on Thursday and participated in the annual conference of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) to discuss European security challenges.
In the meeting with the Spanish secretary of state, discussions focused on aiding Ukraine to victory and continuing comprehensive support. They also talked about the upcoming NATO summit in Washington next week and countering Russia's hybrid activities.
In addition to Vseviov, the ECFR panel discussion included Spain's secretary of state, Diego Martínez Belío, Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Stefano Sannino, and MEP Nathalie Loiseau, moderated by ECFR Deputy Director Vessela Tcherneva.
The discussion addressed strengthening European security and unity in the present tense international environment.
