Estonian formin: Sweden's accession to NATO is historic

TALLINN - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on Thursday described Sweden's accession to NATO, which is to happen formally  at 6 p.m., as historic.

"Today at 6 p.m. it will happen," the minister said at the government's press briefing, stressing that this is an extremely important step for the region in terms of foreign and security policy. 

"The Baltic Sea is now NATO's internal sea," Tsahkna said, adding that Estonia also supports Ukraine becoming a member of NATO.
