Estonian defmin to discuss defense capability building with EU colleagues

TALLINN - Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur is to take part in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in its defense configuration in Brussels on Nov. 15 where the main topic of discussion will be bridging the gap between defence capabilities and operational realities. 

The EU is planning to launch a military aid mission to Ukraine. Items on the meeting agenda include an overview of the state of affairs in the implementation of the Strategic Compass. An informal lunch will also take place with Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg where Russia's aggression in Ukraine will be discussed.

Before the start of the council meeting, a meeting of the steering board of the European Defense Agency will be held on topic of capability building.
