TALLINN - Estonian Minister of Defense Juri Luik and his Polish counterpart Mariusz Blaszczak on Friday discussed issues concerning bilateral defense cooperation, the upcoming NATO summit and the European Union's defense related initiatives.

"Poland is one of the most important allies of the Baltic Sea region, who has also repeatedly demonstrated its desire to contribute to allied relations," Luik was quoted by the Defense Ministry as saying at the meeting with Blaszczak, who on Friday arrived on a two-day visit to Estonia.

The ministers on Friday evening also laid a wreath at the foot of the Monument to the Victory in the War of Independence in Tallinn.

Blaszczak on Friday will visit the training vessel Dar Mlodziezy currently located in Tallinn in the framework of the 100th anniversary of Poland and Estonia and will lay flowers at the memorial plaque to the Polish submarine Orzel at the Mine Harbor.
