TALLINN - Executives from about a dozen Estonian food and beverage companies have begun a visit to India to explore export opportunities when it comes to the Indian market.

The initiators of the visit are Estonian entrepreneurs who see great potential in trade with India and are interested in expanding their market.

"Estonia is already exporting cheese to India, but there is also potential for exporting other dairy products, cereals, beverages, plant-based products, as well as agricultural technology. Direct communication and face-to-face meetings create the conditions and trust for the development of long-term partnerships," Estonia's Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Piret Hartman said in a press release.

As part of the visit, Hartman will meet with the governor of Maharashtra, as well as India's minister of agriculture and the minister of commerce and industry. The meetings will explore ways to promote bilateral cooperation and develop relations between the two countries.

In addition to the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, the visit to India is sponsored and facilitated by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency and the Estonian embassy in New Delhi. The Estonian business delegation includes executives from AS A. Le Coq, AS Balsnack International Holding, Bon Vegan OÜ, Haage Joogid OÜ, Revala OÜ, Saku Õlletehase AS, AS TFTAK, TOHI Distillery OÜ, OÜ Vegestar, and YOOK Production AS.
