Estonian activists collect almost 3,800 signatures to back ban of Balticovo eggs

RIGA - Estonian animal rights protection organisation Loomade Nimel in two weeks has gathered 3,797 signatures for a petition calling for the ban of eggs made by Latvia’s Balticovo company over its inability to meet animal welfare standards. Latvian Animal Freedom group also recently charged Balticovo of poor treatment of laying hens at egg farms in Iecava, Madona, and Daugavpils.
