TALLINN – Estonia's State Shared Service Center has launched a public procurement procedure for the design, manufacture, transport and assembly of a modular kindergarten for the town of Ovruch in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, estimated to cost 1.4 million euros.
The one-story kindergarten building will have places for 80 children, according to the procurement documents. The building will get part of its energy supply from solar panels with a total capacity of 13 kilowatts.
The blueprint design for the kindergarten was prepared by Sport architects. The winner of the procurement will be responsible for providing the basic design, which must be submitted to the contracting authority for approval within 42 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract. The modules must be ready for transport within 90 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract. Within 150 calendar days, the kindergarten must be ready for use.
A separate public procurement will be held to find the general contractor in Ukraine, whose duties include the construction of foundations, a concrete shelter and water and electricity supply elements, as well as the management and coordination of construction work.
Tenders can be submitted until Sept. 9. The contracting authority is the Estonian Center for International Development.
