TALLINN - The Estonian government endorsed at a sitting on Thursday Estonia's positions on the Middle East peace plan proposed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Reinsalu.

"Estonia welcomes the initiative of the United States enabling to revive the Middle East peace process in order to achieve lasting peace between Israel and Palestine," Reinsalu said.

Estonia supports the position that a lasting solution in the Middle East peace process can be achieved in direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine while taking into account the legitimate objectives of both parties. Israel and Palestine must be encouraged to take steps towards finding a lasting solution and to be prepared to conduct constructive negotiations.
