The Tallinn City Government has called for a detailed plan to be drawn up for the construction of a convenience store in the Tallinn district of Lasnamae at the request of OU MMS Property Solutions, Estonian representative of the German global discount supermarket chain Lidl.

The plan will designate the building rights for the construction of a two-storey retail building and the commercial land will retain its current intended purpose, the proposal for the detailed plan says. The area designated for the detailed plan consists of the cadastral units at 11 and 11a Raadiku Street in the Seli region of Lasnamae. The total area of the detailed plan is 12,599 square meters. To ensure the building’s better connection with public transport links, the Kiviku bus stop by Laagna Street will be moved to the north side of the planning area. A total of 130 parking spaces for vehicles and 19 for bicycles has been planned for the plot. MMS Property Solutions on Feb. 21 also bought a plot at 7 Tallinn Road in Narva, the largest city in northeastern Estonia, and turned to the Narva City Government to receive the necessary design criteria. The current 16-year old detailed plan allows for the construction of a two to four-storey commercial building. The company has also expressed interest in building shopping centers in Tartu.
