Estonia’s output of cereals hits new record in 2015

TALLINN – Estonia produced 1,535,300 tons of cereals in 2015, which is 26 per cent more than the year before and the largest output ever recorded in the country, preliminary data published by Statistics Estonia on Tuesday shows. The harvest of 2015 included 812,600 tons of wheat, 556,600 tons of barley, and 54,700 tons of rye. The average yield per hectare was 4,382 kilograms of cereals, being 4,788 kilograms for wheat, 4,235 kilograms for barley, and 3,823 kilograms for rye.
