Employee dies in accident during construction of the Latvian-Belarusian border

RIGA - On Tuesday, an excavator driver from Pamatcels company died while carrying out construction works on the Latvian-Belarusian border, representatives of Citrus Solutions, the general contractor of the border construction works, informed LETA.

The accident occurred when the excavator slid into the river.

Pamatcels is a subcontractor of the design and construction company Citrus Solutions.

Given the need for a rapid response, the companies are currently cooperating with all relevant authorities and the State Police, and all necessary measures are being taken to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Information on the incident was also immediately passed on to the State Labor Inspectorate, and the State Police are working at the scene, and Valsts Nekustamie Ipasumi state property manager has been informed.

The border construction project team expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
