Earthquake registered in W Estonia during weekend

TALLINN – An earthquake was registered in Western Estonia on the night between Saturday and Sunday, the epicenter of which was near the Rummu village, part of the town of Haapsalu, the daily Postimees reports.

Seismological activity was also registered by the Institute of Seismology at the University of Helsinki. Even though the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale was only 2.0, many residents of Laane County were woken up by the noise.

According to data from the Institute of Seismology at the University of Helsinki, the earthquake took place at 3:21 a.m. Estonian time on the night between Saturday and Sunday.
