RIGA - National Alliance chairman Raivis Dzintars is not sure an electoral bloc of political parties with a predominantly ethnic Latvian electorate is ready to replace the current ruling coalition in Riga, the politician said in an interview with Latvian Television today.

Dzintars said that Riga City Council's current pro-Moscow, inefficient coalition had to be replaced long ago but the question is about the pro-Latvian parties' readiness to unite and put together a joint ticket to replace the ruling coalition.

Speaking at the National Alliance's congress last Saturday, Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance) said that the alliance has heard people's wish for the pro-Latvian parties to unite their forces on broader and stronger tickets and "banish the squandering Riga councilors".
