RIGA - Next year, disruptive activities organized by Russian special services against various facilities in Latvia could become more diverse and aggressive, believes the Latvian State Security Service.
According to the Security Service, activities of Russian special services will continue to pose the greatest threat to Latvia's national security in 2025. Because of Russia's desire to increase its influence in Latvia, the aggressor country's special services will continue intelligence activities and malicious actions against Latvia in the coming year, the Security Service informed LETA.
According to the Security Service, Russian special services' disruptive activities against various facilities in Latvia could become more diverse and aggressive as Russia seeks to increase the sense of insecurity in Latvian society and undermine Latvia's support for Ukraine.
The Security Service will continue to implement a systematic set of measures to detect and prevent activities organized by Russia's special services in the territory of Latvia.
More information on trends identified by the Security Service in 2024 and its forecasts for 2025 will be provided in the Security Service's annual report, which will be published early next year.
