RIGA - Dialogue and unity are the right approach to resolving disagreements among allies, Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) told LETA after today's emergency European Council meeting.

She said that current international events and transatlantic relations were discussed at the emergency European Council meeting in Brussels.

"It is positive that the situation has de-escalated," commented the Prime Minister.

According to Silina, at the meeting Latvia expressed solidarity with Denmark and support for strengthening security in the Arctic.

"We continue to provide unwavering support to Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia," emphasized the Prime Minister.

She also pointed out that Europe will strengthen its competitiveness and investments in defense.
