Delegation of State Audit Office of Georgia, parliament to visit Latvia

RIGA – A delegation of the State Audit Office of Georgia and the Georgian parliament are on an experience exchange visit to Latvia, the Latvian State Audit Office reported.

The visit is held with an aim to strengthen compliance of the Georgian State Audit Office work with international auditing standards and good practice.

Latvian Chief Auditor Elita Krumina said that good cooperation between a lawmakers and the audit office is decisive because both parties are interested in taking care of the state’s property and finances.

The Georgian delegation on Tuesday will meet with the parliament public expenditure and audit committee and learn about cooperation between the Latvian State Audit Office and the Saeima.

Also, the Georgian delegation will meet with representatives of the Corruption Prevention Bureau.

The exchange visit is organized within the framework of the European Commission’s development and cooperation program. The State Audit Office has been cooperating with the Georgian colleagues since 2010.
