Debate in Latvia’s ruling coalition about 2017 budget to be tough

RIGA - Discussions about the next year’s budget are expected to be difficult because there has been no fiscal growth but all ruling coalition parties wish to receive additional allocations, representatives of the ruling parties said after the coalition’s Cooperation Council meeting on Monday, May 16. Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis from the Greens and Farmers Union (ZZS) said the budget implementation next year was going to be 100 per cent, the same as this year, and there was no additional revenue, therefore, one could not expect any increase next year.
