Davis Simanis elected chairman of State Culture Capital Foundation

RIGA - Filmmaker Davis Simanis was on Thursday elected chairman of the Council of the State Culture Capital Foundation (SCCF) and the foundation’s panel of film experts, SCCF spokeswoman Jana Verdina told LETA.

Ieva Struka, chairwoman of the SCCF panel of theatrical arts experts, was elected the foundation’s deputy chair.

The Council of the State Culture Capital Foundation includes the culture minister, representatives of the Finance Ministry, the National Culture Council, the Council of Latvia’s Creative Associations, the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, as well as the chairpersons of each SCCF panel of experts.

The SCCF is managed by the Council, its activities are ensured by its director and the culture projects are evaluated by experts of 8 branches.
