Cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents exceeds 300 for first time since May

RIGA - Latvia confirmed 533 new Covid-19 cases and three persons died of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose from 297.6 to 307.1.

The last time the cumulative incidence level exceeded 300 was on May 27.

The number of persons infected with Covid-19 the past 14 days is 5,814.

Of the people testing positive for the virus in the past 24 hours, 426 were unvaccinated or had not completed the vaccination course and 107 had been vaccinated.

Of the 35,108 Covid-19 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1.5 percent came back positive.

To date, Latvia has confirmed 149,614 Covid-19 cases and 2,635 people have died of the virus infection.

Of the latest Covid-19 victims, all three were in the 80 to 89 age group.
