Crowd turns out for rally to protest against Latvian as sole language

Some 500 people turned out for a rally on October 25 to protest against the Education and Science Ministry's proposal to switch to Latvian as the sole language of instruction in all high schools of Latvia. Although the day was the first day of a week-long school holiday, most of the protesters were adults and senior residents.
