Criminal proceedings over language proficiency category breaches

The Latvian Corruption Prevention Bureau has opened a criminal proceeding over illegalities in granting the state language proficiency categories. Altogether, 15 people were involved in the illegalities, including several employees of the Latvian National Center for Education. As part of a different criminal proceeding, the Corruption Prevention Bureau, in cooperation with the National Border Guard, detained employees of the National Center for Education, who had accepted money to help people without appropriate Latvian language skills to get the state ...
