RIGA - As Covid-19 disease has spread to Burtnieki, Salacgriva and Alsunga counties in the past 24 hours, the cases are recorded in 58 regions, according to the latest data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
More than half or 12 of the latest cases were registered in Riga. Thus, the total number of Covid-19 cases registered in Riga has risen to 336.
Jurmala has registered 30 cases, and Jelgava 22 cases in total.
The municipalities that have registered Covid-19 patients inlude Aizkraukle, Aizpute, Aloja, Aluksne, Alsunga, Adazi, Babite, Baldone, Bauska, Burtnieki, Carnikava, Cesis, Dagda, Dobele, Durbe, Engure, Garkalne, Grobina, Iecava, Jelgava, Koceni, Krustpils, Kuldiga, Kegums, Kekava, Limbazi, Marupe, Mersrags, Ogre, Olaine, Ozolnieki, Preili, Priekule, Rauna, Rezekne, Rujiena, Salacgriva, Salaspils, Saldus, Seja, Sigulda, Skriveri, Smiltene, Stopini, Talsi, Tukums, Valka, Vecumnieki and Ventspils counties, as well as large cities - Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jekabpils, Jurmala, Liepaja, Rezekne, Riga, Valmiera and Ventspils.
As reported, with 23 more people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Latvia has grown to 612, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Altogether, 1,198 people were tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 tests conducted so far reached 26,656.
Of the 35 Covid-19 patients that are being treated in hospital at the moment, 32 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases, which means the patients have pneumonia and need ventilation.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday decided to extend the state of emergency until May 12. Current restriction are not increased, but they are not softened either.
