RIGA – Today event Countryside Comes to Town will be held at the November 11th Embankment in Riga, organizers of the even reported.
The aim of the campaign is to popularize the countryside environment, the produce and services coming from Latvia, with special attention to involving and educating children and youth about traditional and non-traditional farming in the countryside.
Participants of the event will be addresses by Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis, Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis, Agricultural Minister Janis Duklavs, Culture Minister Dace Melbarde, Riga City Mayor Nils Usakovs.
The event will give possibility to see how the bread is baked, milk is produced, honey is collected, what is the role of the grain dryer and crop harvester, how does forestry machinery work, and many more. Each visitor will be able to smell, to touch, to hear and see the daily work of farmers and forest managers, and to get acquainted with the fisheries sector.
