Contingency funds to be used to phase out unpaid overtime of medics

The financing required to phase out the so-called extended regular working hours for medical personnel, which essentially is overtime for which they are not paid extra, will be taken from the contingency funds in the Latvian national budget. The Cabinet of Ministers next week will review the draft reply to the parliamentary committee on social and labor affairs prepared by the Finance Ministry which says that an additional 2 million Euros will be granted from the contingency funds in 2017, and the Health Ministry's basic expenditure in 2018 and beyond will be increase...
