Constitutional Court opens case over teacher loyalty amendments

The Constitutional Court has opened a case over new legislation allowing to sack teachers that are disloyal to the Latvian state. The Constitutional Court has called on Saeima to submit by March 10 a report on the circumstances of the case and the legal argumentation behind the disputed legislation. The case has to be prepared for hearing by June 10. The date and form of the hearing will be announced after the case is ready for hearing.
