RIGA - Clients might change their natural gas suppliers more actively in summer, said Latvijas Gaze natural gas utility CEO Aigars Kalvitis in an interview with commercial TV3 television today.
"Natural gas in Latvia is being used by 355,000 clients. Even if we wished it, it is physically not possible to ensure large migration in a couple of weeks. I think that a large share of residents will stick to the universal service," said Kalvitis, adding that there might be more active migration of clients in summer.
Kalvitis underscored that already earlier other merchants were able to offer natural gas supply to households and fight for customers.
At the same time, according to a poll conducted by Kantar, 38 percent of Latvian residents are not informed that the natural gas market will be opened for households as of May 1. At the same time, 13 percent of respondents said that they are well-informed and 47 percent said that they "have heard something".
Kantar polled 800 Latvian residents, aged 18-60.
