TALLINN - The movement of cargo on the Estonia-Russia border, which has been halted for the past few days, had been partially restored by Thursday morning.
Long queues formed at Estonian border crossing points on Tuesday due to the Russian Federation not accepting cargo. As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 198 trucks waiting to cross the border at the Narva border crossing point and the border crossing had been delayed by 45 hours. There were 256 trucks in the queue at the Koidula border crossing point and the border crossing had been delayed by 51 hours, while there were 283 trucks in the queue at the Luhamaa border crossing point and the border crossing had been delayed by 50 hours.
On Thursday morning, spokespeople for the Estonian Tax and Customs Board told BNS that traffic had partially resumed at the Luhamaa and Koidula border crossing points as of early morning. The situation in Narva remains unchanged, however, as the Russian Federation is continuously not accepting cargo.
