VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda met with proposed candidate for economy minister Lukas Savickas who vows to ensure the continuity of started work if he is appointed.
"Personally, I stressed the importance of ensuring the continuity of started work, including strengthening the competitiveness of the business environment, continuing innovative reforms and continuing digitalization work," Savickas told journalists after the meeting.
"I also paid attention to the fact that if I am appointed, I would pay additional attention to the promotion of green economy, the development of tourism and the area of public procurement," the candidate, who's now an adviser to the prime minister, said.
The position of economy and innovation minister has been vacant since December when former Minister Virginijus Sinkevicius assumed the position of a European commissioner.
The president has not announced his decision on Savickas yet.
