Canadian foreign minister to arrive on working visit to Latvia

RIGA - Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne will arrive on a working visit to Latvia on March 2, LETA was informed by the Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, he will meet with Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics to discuss Latvian-Canadian security and economic cooperation, discuss EU-Canada relations, as well as exchange views on current issues on the international agenda.

While in Latvia, Champagne will also meet with President Egils Levits and Defense Minister Artis Pabriks.

It is planned that the Canadian foreign minister will visit the Adazi military base, where he will meet with Canadian soldiers currently leading the NATO battle group in Latvia.
