Calendar of main business events in Baltic states next week

RIGA/TALLINN/VILNIUS - The following is the calendar of main business events scheduled in the Baltic states next week.

MONDAY, September 24

Estonia. Minister of Rural Affairs Tarmo Tamm to take part in informal meeting of EU agriculture and fisheries ministers in Austria on Sept. 24-25. The central topic of the meeting is the future of the common agricultural policy.

Estonia. Baltic countries to mark their centennials within the framework of the events of the 58th assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. Food made from products of Baltic origin will be offered at the event, among other things.

Latvia. Pope Francis arrives in Latvia. Public Holiday.

Lithuania. Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite to meet with Sarunas Keserauskas, chairman of the Lithuanian Competition Council, to discuss rising prices and competition issues.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas to pay a visit to the United States on September 24-26.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Agriculture Minister Giedrius Surplys to attend an informal meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Austria on September 24-25.

Lithuania. MP Laurynas Kasciunas to give a news conference on "the participation by foreign companies that do not meet national security interests in Lithuania's energy projects".

TUESDAY, September 25

Estonia. The private forest owners foundation SA Erametsakeskus to organize 2nd Baltic private forestry expert level meeting in West-Viru county on Sept. 25-26.

Latvia. The parliament standing committees to meet.

Latvia. The Public Utilities Commission to meet.

Latvia. Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis to chair the meeting of the cooperation council of coalition parties.

Latvia. The Cabinet of Ministers to meet.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Finance Minister Vilius Sapoka to give a report to the Seimas on the use of EU structural funds.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Deputy Economy Minister Gintaras Vilda to meet with the heads of Norway's innovation agency and attend Oslo Innovation Week events in the Norwegian capital on September 25-26.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Deputy Economy Minister to attend a high-level conference on digital and e-government in Vienna on September 25-26.

Lithuania. Swedbank to present the results of a study on the impact of technologies on workplaces.

Latvia. Social business conference organized in VEF Quarter, Riga.

Latvia. The Bank of Latvia is issuing a two-euro commemorative coin dedicated to Zemgale.

Lithuania. Life Sciences Baltics 2018, an international life sciences forum, to get underway at the Litexpo exhibition hall in Vilnius.

Lithuania. AIR Convention, an international commercial aviation conference, to kick off in Vilnius.

Estonia. Government meeting and press conference at Stenbock House, Tallinn.

Estonia. Marten Ross, deputy secretary general of the Ministry of Finance, to atted meeting of the Nordic Baltic Constituency (NBC) of the International Monetary Fund in Vilnius.

Latvia. The Central Statistical Bureau to release information on construction cost changes in August 2018.

Latvia. A conference dedicated to IT sector changes and challenges to be held at Islande Hoteli n Riga.

Latvia. Prime Minister to attend 5G Techritory conference.

Latvia. Medbaltica trade fair organized in Kipsala through September 29.

Lithuania. Lithuanian Economy Minister Virginijus Sinkevicius to meet with Mark Ferguson, director general of Science Foundation Ireland and chief scientific adviser to the Irish government.
