RIGA - By following epidemiologists' recommendations, Latvia's society is collectively saving lives, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) said after the weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
The prime minister thanked Latvia's residents for discipline and solidarity at a time when various restrictions have been imposed in an effort to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Many find staying at home difficult. I know it, because I too have been sitting at home for ten days. But we must realize that by following epidemiologists' recommendations and the government's instructions aimed at curbing Covid-19, we are collectively saving lives," Karins said.
The prime minister thanked medics, police, border guards, pharmacists and others who continue to protect Latvia's people.
