RIGA - With 78.097 million liters of beer produced in 2018, beer production in Latvia dropped 4.8 percent from a year before, according to the State Revenue Service's data on excised goods.
Meanwhile, Latvian beer imports rose 5.1 percent year-on-year to 111.16 million liters in 2018.
Overall, 162.13 million liters of beer were distributed for consumption in Latvia last year, up 1.1 percent against 2017.
Latvian beer exports increased by 20.1 percent year-on-year, from 22.45 million liters in 2017 to 26.96 million liters 2018.
As reported, Latvia produced 72.06 million liters of beer in 2017, which was an 11 percent rise against 2016.
