TALLINN - The listed Estonian garment manufacturer and seller Baltika as the sole shareholder of apparel stitching company OU Baltika Tailor has decided to dissolve the company as of Nov. 1, 2019 and to start with the liquidation proceedings -- that means over 300 employees at the company's production units located in East-Viru County and in Tallinn's Lasnamae district will be made redundant, Postimees reports.

Baltika said in March the it would discontinue production operations in Estonia as Baltika Group's business model was expensive and the share of fixed costs was high. Meelis Milder, CEO of Baltika at the time, said that the company was working closely with the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund in order to provide everyone the best advice and counselling for changing jobs.

Around one third of Baltika's collections has so far been produced at the company's Estonian units.
