Baltic presidents to participate in celebration of Moldova's Independence Day

RIGA - The presidents of the Baltic states will take part in the celebrations of Moldova's Independence Day on Tuesday, LETA was told at the Latvian president's office.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics is in Moldova on a working visit until Wednesday, August 28. Today, Rinkevics along with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Estonian President Alar Karis will participate in the celebration of Moldova's Independence Day.

The Baltic presidents are scheduled to have a joint meeting and news conference with Moldova's Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Originally, they were scheduled to meet with Moldova's President Maia Sandu, but she has been diagnosed with Covid-19, the Latvian president's office informed. 

Together with Recean, Nauseda and Karis, Rinkevics will participate in a flower ceremony by the monument of Prince Stephen III the Great, and at the end of the day will make a speech at an Independence Day concert.
