Baltic PMs to discuss boosting region's energy independence at meeting in Tallinn

RIGA - The prime ministers of the Baltic states will meet in Tallinn this Friday to discuss how to boost the region's energy independence, LETA was told at Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins' (New Unity) office. 

The meeting of the Baltic prime ministers is expected to deal with energy security and cooperation matters, with the energy and climate ministers of the Baltic states also scheduled to participate in the talks. 

The Baltic prime ministers will also discuss continued support to Ukraine, the security situation in the region and preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. 

Karins will also attend the Lennart Meri Conference, which this year will focus on Russia's war against Ukraine and its impact on European and global security.
