Baltic and Polish prime ministers to meet in Riga

RIGA - On Friday, a meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers will be held in Riga, LETA learned from the State Chancellery.

Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins will meet with Prime Minister of Estonia Juri Ratas, Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Skvernelis, while Mateusz Morawiecki, Head of the Polish Government, will attend the meeting as a guest of honor.

The Baltic Council of Ministers will discuss issues of importance to the Baltic region – regional infrastructure projects, including the Rail Baltica project, regional security and European Union issues. The Baltic Council of Ministers will be held in two sessions that will be followed by a joint press conference.

The meeting of the Baltic and Polish ministers will be held later today, while in the evening there will be a bilateral meeting of Karins and Morawiecki.
