Ainars Bagatskis will not stay on as the head coach of the Latvian national men's basketball team, thus a new specialist will be leading Latvia in the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualification campaign, the president of the Latvian Basketball Association Valdis Voins said on September 25.
Bagatskis' contract with the LBA concluded after this year's European Men's Basketball Championships (EuroBasket), where Latvia finished in fifth place - the best result Latvia has achieved since the restoration of independence.
