RIGA - An asylum seeker who had arrived in Latvia and contracted Covid-19 has passed away, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) confirmed to LETA.
The deceased was between the ages of 70 and 75, and information about the death was received this week. According to information previously provided by the CDC, a number of Covid-19-related deaths were reported this week in the 70-79 age group.
The deceased persons was staying in the accommodation center for asylum seekers in Mucenieki.
As reported, dozens of Covid-19 cases have been detected among asylum seekers at the Mucenieki center so far.
