ASF infection nearing Latvia's western region of Kurzeme - veterinary authority

African swine fever (ASF) continues to spread in Latvia and is quickly approaching the western Latvian region of Kurzeme — the disease has been verified in three wild boars in Slampe, in the Tukums municipality, Anna Joffe, a spokeswoman for the Food and Veterinary Service, told LETA. This raises the total number of wild boars infected with ASF to 667, located in 182 districts in 58 municipalities, as well as in the eastern Latvian towns of Plavinas and Rezekne.
