RIGA - As the situation at educational institutions is becoming increasingly more critical, schools must consider their plan B, Education and Science Minister Ilga Suplinska (New Conservative Party) told a press conference today.
Schools could switch to remote learning on some days every week, or for several weeks, said Suplinska, adding that this especially concerned large schools.
"I am urging all schools to consider whether and how extracurricular activities take place at this time," said Suplinska, adding that schools not only in Riga but everywhere in Latvia should consider their plans B.
As of last Friday, Covid-19 was registered in seven schools, three kindergartens and two universities.
Fourteen new Covid-19 cases have been registered in these seven schools so far, three cases at the three preschools, and four Covid-19 cases are associated with two universities.
