Germany’s Allianz Group, one of the world’s leading insurers, is set to acquire Lithuanian and Polish businesses of UK’s life insurance group Aviva in a deal worth 2.7 billion euros.
With this transaction, Aviva concludes the planned refocus of its portfolio and will from now on focus on the markets of the UK, Ireland and Canada, the company said in a press release.
The deal, which will need clearance from Lithuanian and Polish supervisory authorities, is expected to be finalized within a year.
