AKROPOLE Alfa has a new manager – Artūrs Bernhards

As of yesterday, 1 June, Artūrs Bernhards, who has more than 10 years of international experience in the retail industry and property management, is appointed as the new manager of the Riga’s shopping and entertainment centre AKROPOLE Alfa.

“The shopping centre management industry is dynamic and extensive, so we are pleased to welcome Artūrs Bernhards to our team, whose many years of experience and vision will help to lead the shopping center towards meeting the group's goals. We are always looking for people who can enrich the success of our group with their unique and creative view of the industry, so we see great potential for joint work and wish the new leader success,” says Rasa Kundušienė, Head of property management of Akropolis Group.

“For many, AKROPOLE Alfa evokes memories of being one of the first large shopping centres in Latvia. For me, too, it has been a daily favourite and is always on the way, both going to and from Riga. I am delighted to be able to use my multiple years of experience in the retail industry to further develop the potential of this historic centre and retain the loyalty of its long-standing customers. My own and Akropolis Group’s values are the same, so in my new role I will pay particular attention to implementing the Group’s sustainability strategy, to not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also promote an even more family-friendly environment," says Artūrs Bernhards, manager of AKROPOLE Alfa.

Before joining the AKROPOLE Alfa team, Artūrs Bernhards was Regional Sales Manager at Lidl Latvija, being responsible for three stores with almost 200 employees, and before that was Trade and Sales Manager at IKEA. Previously, A. Bernhards gained international experience as Terminal Director at Riga Airport, managing day-to-day processes, and interacting with a wide range of commercial customers.

Artūrs Bernhards lived in the United Kingdom, in London, for 12 years, where he graduated from Harrow College and the University of West London as an IT technician.
