According to Silina, the government hears such progress reports quite often to make sure the process is successful and the strategic investor can be publicly announced.

"Of course, we want to receive their [the investor's] decision as soon as possible, because the public also want to know the degree of the investor's involvement, and it is important to the government to take care of this and complete the whole homework," Silina said.

The prime minister added that the strategic investor could also contribute to airBaltic's visibility and add value to the airBaltic brand in the international market.

"We are moving forward with this agreement, it should be there very soon. As soon as we have this decision from the strategic investor, we will be happy to announce it," said Silina.
