African swine fever cases reported in Kulciems, Ive and Zalve counties

Last week, inspectors from the Food and Veterinary Service found African swine fever (ASF) in 21 wild boars killed by the disease, as the infection spread to three more counties, the Food and Veterinary Service informed. Six wild boar carcasses were found in the County of Kulciems in the western Latvian region of Talsi, and one dead wild boar was found in Ive County in the same region. The first ASF case was confirmed also in the County of Zalve, in the southern Latvian region of Nereta.
