One month before the EU Pay Transparency Directive comes into force, the Latvian company ERDA has launched the largest real-time salary data platform in the Baltics to date. The platform enables companies to obtain up-to-date information on salaries, job positions, and the most in-demand skills in the labor market within minutes. Unlike traditional salary surveys published once a year, the platform’s data is updated continuously. The system analyzes more than 80,000 unique job advertisements from 12,000 companies, covering 1,800 job groups across the Baltics.
Starting from June 7, 2026, EU member states will be required to ensure that companies can objectively justify salary levels and explain gender pay gaps. Until now, this requirement in Latvia has largely been based on annual salary surveys or companies’ internal data.
Data collected by ERDA shows that salary differences in accounting positions, one of the most in-demand professions in Latvia, can reach as much as 76%. Meanwhile, in blue-collar professions, salary differences for one of the most sought-after roles, sales assistants, can reach 63%. Overall, the data highlights significant information asymmetry in the labor market and demonstrates the need for more transparent and up-to-date salary data.
“Although recent years have brought significant geopolitical and economic disruptions, the labor market in Latvia and the Baltics remains highly active. Unemployment remains low, and nearly 10,000 unique vacancies are published every month. At the same time, employers are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit specialists with the necessary skills, as the competencies demanded are changing much faster than before due to the influence of artificial intelligence. Under these conditions, annual surveys are no longer sufficient for companies. To make informed decisions about salaries, teams, and competitiveness, businesses need fast, accurate, and up-to-date data,” says Zane Čulkstēna.
The platform uses artificial intelligence solutions and the ESCO taxonomy, the European Commission’s standardized classification of skills and occupations, to structure information about job positions, skills, salaries, and demand trends across different industries. Demand for such solutions is rapidly increasing across Europe, driven by the new EU pay transparency requirements and the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market. Initially, the platform is available in Latvia, with expansion planned soon into Lithuania and other European countries.
ERDA has specialized in labor market, HR, and future-of-work issues in the Baltics for more than ten years. During the platform’s development phase, the company collaborated with several Baltic-wide businesses in manufacturing, finance, insurance, IT, and other sectors.
