Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins delivered a memorable concert in Monaco. It began with a somber minute of silence to honor the memory of the recently deceased Minister of State. Then, the notes and the magic baton of the exceptional Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla combined virtuosity and poetry, freeing the melodies from Georgijs Osokins’ piano. The music triumphed, and the baton swirled in the air, reaching toward the heavens. The Baltic talent penned another unforgettable chapter, and the audience offered a prolonged standing ovation to those who illuminated an evening that started with a very different kind of tribute. Music conquers all, even death.
At the end of the evening, the President of the Monaco Baltic States, Prof. Franco Borruto, accompanied by Maija Ivdra, presented the conductor with a bouquet in the colors of the Lithuanian flag.
