RIGA - During so-called ''Victory Day'' events by at Uzvaras Park in Riga yesterday, 44 violations were established, LETA was told by State Police spokeswoman Elina Priedite.
24 of them were associated with social distancing violations.
She said fines were also issued for various other violations, including public intoxication and minor hooliganism.
Police were on hand in greater numbers to maintain the peace yesterday, as well as make sure that people were observing social distancing measures.
Police say the event went by rather peacefully, with no major incidents to report.
