RIGA - 22 cruise ship visits have been announced in the Riga Port this July, the Riga Freeport Authority informed LETA.
Among them, the largest number of cruise ship passengers will arrive from the US in July.
On Thursday, July 3, the Norwegian company Vestland Classic's expedition ship Nordsjernen will call at the Riga Port. The ship was built in 1956 and is listed as a Norwegian National Heritage Ship.
On Sunday, July 6, and on August 5 this year, the German TUI Cruises' 316-meter Mein Schiff 1, which can accommodate up to 2,894 passengers and 1,100 crew members, will visit the Riga Port.
On July 11 this year, the US premium cruise line Oceania Cruises' ship Vista will call at the Riga Port for the first time. Built in 2023, the cruise ship is a 241-meter long, 36-meter wide, 15-deck luxury vessel. It has 612 cabins and can accommodate up to 1,200 passengers and 800 crew members.
Also, for the first time, the expedition ship World Traveller from the US cruise line Nicko Cruises/Atlas will call at the Riga Port on July 26. The ship can accommodate up to 200 passengers.
This season, 26 ships have visited the Riga Port, bringing some 40,000 guests from more than 120 countries - mainly from the US, Germany and the UK.
In the 2025 season, 84 cruise ship visits have been booked to the Riga Port, an increase of 27.3 percent compared to the previous year, when 66 cruise ships called at the port.
As reported, the Riga Port handled a total of 80,870 cruise ship passengers in 2024, which is 1 percent less than in 2023, when 81,681 cruise ship passengers arrived.
The Riga Port is the largest port in Latvia in terms of cargo handled.
