TALLINN - Estonian president's wife Sirje Karis took part in a video meeting with First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska at the latter's invitation, where Karis spoke about the importance of supporting Ukraine and of addressing the mental health of young people and children who have arrived in Estonia as refugees.
Karis spoke about the opportunities of Ukrainian children to study in Estonia and the Tallinn Freedom School for refugee children, spokespeople for the Office of the President said on Thursday.
"Due to the war having severely impacted the mental wellbeing of all children, we attach great importance to the mental health of children and young people and to the provision of psychological support," Karis said. She also underscored mental and psychological support for pregnant women and women with small children from Ukraine.
Karis also reaffirmed Estonia's continued steadfast support to Ukraine to help the victims of the war of aggression cope with difficulties and subsequently rebuild Ukraine.
Estonia is focusing on the reconstruction of the Zhytomyr region and continues to support Ukraine with military, economic and humanitarian aid for as long as necessary based on the wishes and needs of the Ukrainian people.
